Hello, and welcome to Group 2's page for our World War II Unit project. This page is a collection of articles written by this group about various aspects of WWII and additional literature and videos for you to explore about each topic. From Hitler's rise to power; to the US response; to the Holocaust; to the home front; to allied strategies; and to the Allied victory in the Pacific - achieved by dropping two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki - World War II was one of, if not the most, politically influential war of the modern era. Moreover, numerous technological advancements were brought to the table, including advanced aerial warfare, the atomic bomb, and the advent of modern naval warfare. Also, as a result of the Manhattan project to develop the bomb, significant contributions to science were made, including the discovery of nine new elements. After WWII, the UN was created to be a global peacekeeper, and unite the nations of the world to resolve conflicts diplomatically.
